The heart of my business is connecting with those around me. The images I create are a direct result of spending time with couples and getting to know their stories. I want to feel like their friend, so any barriers fall away, and they can be comfortable to showcase their love in front of my lens. 
My sole purpose it to tell an elopement day as it unfolds, I want to be there to get the imperfectly perfect moments, and to capture the things that hold meaning to you. The beauty of elopements is that each one is different – they are meant to break the rules of whats the ‘norm.’ So that’s why every elopement I shoot will look different, I will curate images focused on what values they have and what they want to look back and remember. 
I founded this business because I believe in the value of images, the power of stories, and what they hold. Images get to remind us of the seasons we have walked together & excite us for the ones to come.
I once photographed a couple for their 5 year dating anniversary because when they looked back they realised they hadn’t been capturing their journey together enough. The girl said to me clearly ‘I want to be able to look back in a few years and remember these seasons, and see how far we’ve come. We love your images because they are authentic and showcase each couple as they are.’ 
The meaning behind their session truly encompasses my heart behind the business I have created. Come as you are and let me tell your story the way it should.

About Mel

I’m a bit of an introverted, outrovert. I love my quiet time, my chai latte’s and being still. However when I get around people I love and adventures I am excited for, I can be one of the most energetic people in a room. 

I search for meaning in my business because I am always searching for intentionality in my own life, through what I eat, what I buy and where I spend my time. I’m in love with lifestyles that take time to enjoy the simple things & appreciate what one has. I believe gratitude and thankfulness for what is right in front of us, is a key to a happy life.

Approach to Elopements

I like to keep it relaxed, I’ll probably start the day with you getting ready and I will be like a fly on the wall, capturing it as it unfolds. When it comes to portraits I’ll be as directive or as laid back as you want me too, I usually get a good vibe of my couples long before their elopement day and make sure I am directing them to suit their personalities. Many times this is because we’ve already done an engagement or day before shoot and then we all know how we work together. However if we haven’t I’ll just make more effort to understand them through questions and general conversation.

– I like to eat kiwi fruit with the skin on.

– Mistakes are just learning curbs.

– If I could pick one thing to eat for the rest of my life, it would be hummus.

– Converse are pretty much the only thing you’ll see on my feet.
