Kerri Watkins Celebrant has been marrying couples since 2008 in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, but her love and passion are found in intimate elopements. She loves when couples choose to celebrate their love, their way. Each wedding is unique and personal, just like the couples themselves.

Kerri is also passionate about assisting her couples to write their own personal vows and is a bit of a bully (with the best of intentions and always there for guidance) when it comes to keeping them secret from each other #secretsquirrelvows Kerri shared that there is something truly magical about each partner hearing the other’s vows on the day, it’s the perfect opportunity to be in the moment.

Kerri will travel all over Australia with Off-Track Ceremonies (4wd) or you can head to Kerri’s second home on Moreton Island with Moreton Island Celebrant. I never would have dreamed that I would meet the man of my dreams, get married AND become a celebrant. Funny how fate has other plans in store for us. That’s a story I would love to share with you one day.

On the day of my wedding, I just knew that I was going to share with other couples the crazy journey, that is love and get them #hitchedwithlove. So after our 3-day honeymoon, I came home and enrolled. And here I am 🙂

I’m a lover of love and a bit of a hopeless romantic – but I’m definitely a realist and know that it’s not always rainbows and butterflies. But I love that every love story is different and unique and every couple has their story to tell. My favourites are the ones that have overcome obstacles to be where they are today.

– Lover of the beach, the stars, the moon, sunrises and sunsets.

– Evil step mum to two boys (well the boys don’t think I’m evil – but I like the stigma).

– Love my mates and my family – you know the special ones 😉

– Camping and 4wding – give me a swag under the stars with a fire over a 5 star hotel any day.

– Oh alright, I like a 5-star hotel too – but there better be an ocean view.

– Engel cold bourbon drinker – on the rocks these days.

– My hubby is my best mate.

Approach to Elopements

When it comes to elopements, I believe that less is more. I think that the simplest and most intimate way to elope is by just the two of you escaping to get married in secret. Whether you go to the registry office, my home office or find a spot in nature that has meaning to you, getting married in an intimate setting can be incredibly romantic and special.

I also believe that your elopement doesn’t have to be traditional in order to be beautiful and memorable. If you want to get married in your backyard or at a local park, that can be just as magical as getting married in an exotic location.

The most important thing is that you are marrying the love of your life, you only have those that you want standing beside you, and that is what will make your elopement truly special.
