Ceremony

Ceremonies are fully customisable as you will work with Julie to create your own ceremony. They are held in a location of your choosing in our one acre of gardens and can be held under the verandah as a wet weather option.

Photo Location

We are set on one acre of fully landscaped gardens so there are lots of different areas and photo opportunities. Feature spots include the rose arbor, round garden, Japanese-inspired garden and the formal garden. There are also plenty of mature trees for big shots, including the 40 year old Weeping Willow.

Reception

Receptions are also spent in the garden, or under the patio in the case of bad weather. Couples can choose to include nibble foods and drinks to their reception and lawn games can be set out for guests to enjoy. There is no minimum spend required for food or drinks.

About Little Weddings

Little wedding, big celebration.

Little Weddings takes the fuss out of planning a wedding so that you can simply arrive and enjoy your wedding day knowing that things have been coordinated for you.

Experienced celebrant, two hours of professional photography and two hours of site hire in a private & picture-perfect garden venue are all included in this complete packaged wedding. We even offer two invitation templates free of charge so that you have even less to think about when it comes to planning your special day.

Food and drinks can be added and there is no minimum charge for this. Lawn games can be scattered around the gardens for guests to enjoy and music can be played through our PA system. Bring your own playlist or let us choose for you.

As well as inviting up to 30 guests, couples are also welcome to share their wedding day with their fur-babies. Dogs are welcomed and encouraged at Little Weddings, provided that they are supervised at all times.

Little Weddings are perfect for anyone wanting a simple yet special wedding or vow renewal, or a true elopement just for two.

Venue History

Known by locals as "Boysville" the property was originally built by John Donoghue as his family residence and dry goods store. Over the years the property has seen many owners and many uses.
In 1901 the first extension to the property was completed. It consisted of a kitchen and scullery (now known affectionately as the Snug Bar).

In the late 1980s, after years of neglect, the house was saved from dereliction. The Draper family spent the next decade painstakingly restoring the property to its former glory. In 2001, the property started a new life offering accommodation for all to enjoy.

Currently, the Old Stone House is owned by John and Debbie and managed by their daughter, Rachael. John has spent a lot of time maintaining the gardens and adding his touch to it by creating new areas, such as the Japanese-inspired garden, the formal garden, and the fern gully.

Originally built in 1861, the house celebrated its 155th anniversary in 2016.
