About Cavanagh Photography

Cavanagh Photography started back in 2008 after we had travelled around the world together, in backpacks, for four months. Our passion for travel and photograph really grew from there and we were soon asked to photograph a wedding. Since then, we have photographed around 500 weddings and elopements all over NSW, around Australia and even a few overseas. 

We have won a bunch of wedding and photography awards over the years, but it is so much more important to us to give couples the best elopement experience possible than it is to win awards. 

We used to live in Sydney which is where we spend the first six years of our career shooting weddings. We then moved up to the Central Coast and love living up here and it is where we have lived here ever since. The Central Coast is a great central wedding location for us. Close to Sydney, Newcastle and the magnificent Hunter Valley region. 

We love outdoor weddings and elopements. Anywhere in nature. Beaches, parks, forests, mountains, vineyards, cliff tops or on a country property.

About Us

We are a family run business based on the Central Coast of NSW. We have two little girls and a dog named Beau. Adam is the main photographer and Kim runs the business side of things. We photograph around 40 weddings and 40 elopements each year.

Approach to Elopements

I have absolutely no rules for elopements. I just want you to just totally be yourselves at your elopement and have the most amazing experience. You can be totally crazy, serious, fun-loving, emotional or awkward… as long as you stay true to yourselves.

Your photos will be natural and beautiful, with no posing. I give you a little bit of direction and just get you both to enjoy the moment and the location that you are in.

I will not tell you to ‘pretend’ to do anything or set up fake moments or scenes.

I am really easy-going and friendly and will never boss you around.

Forget everything you think that wedding photography is and just have an amazing, stress-free experience at your elopement.  

Travel for Elopements

I travel all over Australia for elopements especially if they are somewhere unique and different.My local area is the Central Coast, Newcastle and Hunter Valley regions and can offer shorter coverage at these locations. Other areas may require longer coverage or a small travel fee.  

Fun Facts

– knows every Wiggles song by heart… not necessarily because I love them.

– always lets the dog sleep in the bed.

– feels that soy sauce should accompany every meal.

– has photographed weddings with a thousand people, but my fav’s have been the small ones.
