Noosa Elopement at Boreen Point, Queensland
We are very excited to share Susanna & Eric’s stunning Noosa elopement with you which was photographed by the amazingly talented, Jekka from Naturally Jek Photography. The ceremony was conducted by the equally amazing, Danielle from Your Story Celebrant.
This elopement took place at Boreen Point in Queensland as was suggested by Jek because this couple wanted their elopement to reflect their love for the water. And wow did they celebrate their marriage in the water. There was paddle boarding, Champagne sprays and at the end, they both got totally soaked in the lake. Amazingly fun elopement that shows that you can do anything you want at your elopement.
Boreen Point is located in the Shire of Noosa in Queensland and sits on the largest natural saltwater lake in the state called Lake Cootharaba. It is a popular location for all sorts of water sports and is a great location for a couple looking to elope near the water.
Susanna & Eric’s love story began ten years ago….
“We met 10 years ago during my first part-time job. He proposed to me one day before our wedding but we both had a plan to get married. He just not actually asked.”
They both got ready together in one of the local cottages. And they did something that more couples should do… they actually helped each other get dressed. For me, one of the most beautiful and intimate parts of an elopement is when a couple gets ready together. They helped each other put on their wedding attire and Jekka even managed to do a “first look”, where Eric saw Susanna in her dress.
Like many couples at the moment, their choice to elope was dictated mainly because of Covid and travel restrictions.
“We can’t back to Hong Kong and our family couldn’t get here.”
But their family back in Hong Kong were very supportive with their decision to get married and elope…
“They always ask us for our wedding date because we have been together for a long time. So they are not surprised and happy with that.”
“Everyone said Eric is too relaxing. He just keeps walking around the house, playing with his phone and asks me to make him a coffee. That’s very Eric style!”
The location for this elopement was suggested by Jekka, their photographer. They booked Jekka’s adventure elopement package which included her as the photographer, celebrant, musician, florist and videographer.
Susanna said…”I thought the place is amazing.”
Susanna described their Noosa elopement at Boreen Point as…
“Relaxing, having fun, stand up paddleboards, many great photos.”
The best about eloping for this couple was…
“We can do whatever we want. If we getting married in Hong Kong we need to wake up very early and till midnight. Elopement is the best.”
This is Susanna’s advice for future couples planning to elope…
“Don’t rush to plan everything for your wedding. Sometimes no plan is a good plan. Enjoy and relax, the big day belongs to only you two.”
“Like jump into the water, I think the only moment I regret on it was when I saw the bill on dry clean. But that’s unforgettable and totally worth😆”
This is the amazing team involved in this Noosa elopement.
